Family, heritage and tradition all come together in the Janoska Ensemble, formed by four brothers with a unified vision to share classical music, with a twist, to new audiences globally.
Hailing from a musical family, the Janoska Ensemble was formed in Vienna and is made up of the four brothers Ondrej, Frantisek, Roman, and Arpad, and their in-law Julius Darvas. Each received the best classical training in Europe, and has performed as soloist throughout the region. As an ensemble “they are a whiff of fresh air”, combining their individual talents with their family ties. They have become successful in performing in a variety of genres in their unique ‘Janoska style’, which can be described as creating new hybrid genre of classical music, mixed with Gypsy, Latin, Tango and a dash of Pop!
Since performing together the ensemble has played at some of the most prestigious venues around the world, including Vienna’s famed Musikverein, New York’s Carnegie Hall, at Sydney’s iconic Opera House and others.
Led by Frantisek Janoska, the group has worked with many legends in the music scene, including Bobby McFerrin, Al Jarreau, Angelika Kirchschlager, Erwin Schrott, Felicity Lott, Helmut Lotti, Bireli Lagrene and Roy Hargrove. Further, the group also tours extensively with Bass-Baritone Erwin Schrott and his “Rojotango live” program.
In collaboration with Ford Austria, the Janoska Ensemble organizes a major charity event every year with major guests, such as Sir Roger Moore, Helmut Lotti, the Vienna Philharmonic and Ildiko Raimondy and many others.
